The office design reflects Newsday’s deep connection to the local community. At the entrance, a large art display shows their published photos printed on metal panels that flow along the walls and ceiling. The main reception features a big media wall with a map of Long Island behind it, highlighting their regional focus. The newsroom and broadcast studio, the heart of the office, is open and equipped with 4K/HD technology, large monitors, a virtual set, and a “flash cam” for quick shots. Employees work at bench seating with plenty of natural light. Collaboration areas near the windows offer different work settings and define the office’s neighborhoods. There is also an interactive multimedia space used for internal events, productions, and celebrating local community happenings.
